Northwest Washington Reading Corps

application process

application

Complete the online application, providing two professional references, and submit to the Northwest Washington Reading Corps.

review

Once a complete application is received it is reviewed by a supervisor. If approved the applicant is offered an interview with a Project Supervisor.

interviews

The applicant has an interview with the Project Supervisor. The applicant is asked to bring the following to their interview:

  • Social Security card
  • Proof of Citizenship (passport OR state ID and birth certificate)
  • Questions about the position

If the Project Supervisor feels that the applicant would be a good fit for the team, his/her application will be sent along to area schools. The applicant's input is very important during this step, as the Northwest Washington Reading Corps does not place applicants. Rather, we match the needs and goals of the applicant to those of the schools.

The applicant interviews at one or more school site. Applicants may be offered a position at one or more school sites and will have to decide where they would like to serve. Once they've accepted a position at a school site the applicant is ready to enroll.

enrollment

The applicant comes to the Northwest Washington Reading Corps office to fill out enrollment paperwork, take a photo for the Member Directory, and receive any important information regarding the first weeks of their service.
